Cakes imbued with history
Visit the Bakery in the 1864 neighbourhood, where you can buy cakes and other confections for your trip through Den Gamle By. In the shop, you will find the baker’s wife selling bread and cakes, and she is very happy to chat about her working life.
All the cakes are baked according to recipes from pre-1900. Try Den Gamle By’s famous vanilla biscuits made with butter, real vanilla and chopped almonds. Or how about a raspberry slice, honey heart or Danish ‘kringle’ pastries?
