Go exploring in Aarhus's history

Aarhus Story takes you on a fascinating journey below street level that tells you all about a Danish city from the Viking Age to the present day. The exhibition is effectively a large interactive museum. It begins with an exciting audio-visual narrative that takes you 1200 years back in time to the Viking town.

You will experience the medieval battle between the church and king, and you are taken through the dark ages with war and plague until the city starts bursting at its boundaries. The steam locomotive whistles and rumbles, the worker is engaged in discussion with their CEO, and the cinema shows films from back then. The tour ends with the last tram in Aarhus, the rock band Gnags and the rock musician Thomas Helmig, the story about Magnum ice cream and a very special course in the Aarhus dialect.
