Blacksmithing Festival

In collaboration with the Dansk Kunstsmedeforening (Danish Artistic Blacksmiths Association), Den Gamle By fires up the forge for this year’s blacksmithing festival.
Once again, you can experience the Danish Championship in artistic blacksmithing, where skilled smiths compete for the title. You’ll also have the chance to try your hand at this time-honoured craft, guided by Den Gamle By’s Blacksmiths’ Guild.
Experience it all over the weekend in the tent at the Festival Grounds, where the ringing sound of hammer on anvil fills the air. Here, you can also learn more about the long history of the blacksmith’s trade – and the opportunities it holds for the future.
