Learn about the history of the crafts and some of the different trades
Among other things, we take a look at certain half-timbered houses, and hear about the classic building trades such as bricklaying, carpentry, cabinetmaking, house decorating and smithery. You will also hear about how Den Gamle By’s own craftsmen keep the old skills and techniques alive when they restore the old houses and recreate building details, fixtures, gardens, street environments and costumes so that the museum is as historically correct as possible.
