Shadow Trail

Take your family on a scavenger hunt and explore the customs and stories of folklore together. Visit the townspeople and enlist their help in the hunt for the Shadow Trail clues.

Shadowland

Once you've found all the Shadow Trail clues, you'll arrive in Shadowland, home of Doubt and Delusion. Here, Gerda Ghost whispers in your ear while Linda Lindorm waits to be fed.

The Vicar’s Widow

In The Eilschou Almshouses, the vicar’s widow tells you a Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale about the Elf Mound. She doesn't believe in the powers of the creatures, but she loves their role in the tales. 

The Washerwoman

The washerwoman knows – and whispers – the town’s dirty secrets. You’ll find her by the stream, where the laundry flutters in the breeze.

The Kitchen Maid
and the Yard Hand

The kitchen maid and the yard hand tell chilling stories about the child that was switched. In the store, the Merchant is ready to sell you wares.

The Shoemaker's Wife

The shoemaker’s wife has a secret helper who brings more fortune to the house than fate ever intended. If you are clever, she may be persuaded to tell you about it.

Food Stalls at Shadowland

Taste candied apples at the Food Stall or warm 'æbleskiver' with apple butter at the Æbleskive Stall. In Restaurant Gæstgivergården awaits open sandwiches with enchanted elderflower.

Turnip lanterns

Cut your own turnip lanterns in the tent at Shadowland. The tradition of carving spooky turnip lanterns in autumn can be traced back to the latter half of the 19th century. Price DKK 20.

Wineke's Cellar

In the cellar beneath the Mintmaster’s Mansion, hot soup and 'love punch' are served – warming the body and stirring the heart.
