Enjoy a safe summer in Den Gamle By
All summer, you can relive the past and see, try, taste – and understand your own history. You can experience flats, backyards and shops from the 70s or talk to the baker or the grocer from the time of Hans Christian Andersen. You can also experience and taste Danish coffee history that you'll meet everywhere in the town. Just follow the blue Madam Blå coffee pots and learn all about the blackish brown beans.
Travel back in time
Meet actors from 1864, 1927 and 1974 and hear about everyday life – in good times and bad.
Come to Coffee Time in Den Gamle By and hear more about the blackish brown beans and how the Danes have enjoyed their coffee through time. Coffee Time includes talks, exhibitions and guided tours. And of course ample opportunities to enjoy this popular drink. Follow the blue Madam Blå coffee pots.
Come and see more than 100 propaganda posters from the Second World War. The posters’ remarkable attitudes in text and images were a decisive and widely used weapon during the war. The exhibition opens on 3 July.
