More information about accessibility
Hearing and visually impaired
A sign-language interpreter can be booked free of charge if you have booked a guided tour. The only requirement is that you book and pay for the guided tour not later than Tuesday the week before the tour. Den Gamle By also organises tactile guided tours for blind children and adults.
Toilets and baby changing rooms
There are toilets and baby changing rooms in other parts of the museum. If you run short, you can collect free nappies, sanitary towels, headache drugs, plaster and bags for dog dirt at the ticket office.
Handcarts and dogs
Visitors may borrow handcarts to transport bags, small children and their own picnics around the town. Unfortunately these carts cannot be reserved in advance. Dogs are welcome in the streets, but not in the houses.
Food and drinks
At Den Gamle By there are two cafés with varyings opening hours and a restaurant serving lunch and afternoon snacks, which is open all year round. You can use the picnic areas both inside and outside, if you bring your own lunch and aftenoon tea or coffee.
