Christmas in Den Gamle By
Experience how the Danes have been celebrating Christmas for 400 years,
from November 23 until January 5.
We garantee a lot of experiences for all ages and a Christmas atmosphere in the streets with Christmas decorations, lanterns and horse-drawn carriages. Explore the exhibitions, and experience how the danish Christmas traditions started. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, Christmas food or goodies from the stalls and buy historic Christmas ornament and gifts from the shops.

Fun with elves
Welcome to the Mintmaster's mansion, where elves tell stories by the fire place.
Fill out your Christmas wishlist and give it to the elves – and buy a hot bowl of rice pudding, Christmas brew or lemonade.
Visit the elves' attic
Be an elf for a day. At the attic, you can borrow a Christmas hat and climb around in a large dresser and in spiderweb
You will find the elves' attic at Aalborggården with intrance from the square (Torvet)
Music in the streets
Feel the Christmas atmosphere, when brassbands play in the streets every friday, saturday and sunday from 12pm-4pm.
Stalls and Christmas goodies
Treat yourself with Christmas food and goodies from the many stalls – there is something for every taste.
Christmas shop and Christmas museum
Visit the Christmas shop at the Square and browse in our large selections of Christmas decorations, At the Christmas shop, you will also find a small Christmas museum.
